Abandoned Motorcycles and Spicy Chili!

So my mom calls me on Saturday and before she even says hello I hear “Are you at Wal-mart?”

“Yes. I am, how did you know!?!?!”

Apparently, she just guessed, because I am always at Wal-mart.  That was spooky.  She told me that earlier in the day she had been doing some yardwork in a part of our yard along “the brook” that had not been maintained in… forever.  While clear-cutting the debris she found, or course, a motorcycle.  It had been there so long that trees had begun to grow in-between the spokes.  It had 1999 plates on it, and the keys were still in the ignition!  We immeditely agreed that this was some sort of Cold Case, and the story behind this may never come to light.  The police came and said they would run the plates and see what comes up, but we haven’t heard anything yet.

Sunday was a fantastic day.  Dave strolled into Church at 11:00 sharp, fresh off the plane from RENNSLAYER!!! (sp.) where he was visiting a grad school.  Sans music, he nonchalantly mulled around the stage after we had already started playing, and sometime later he even joined in.  Sherwin gave the message, and I was really impressed! He did a great job, and the message was awesome.  Well done, amigo.

Darren came to Southwood on Sunday, and he came over afterwards for “The Best Chili in The World” (Darren R. Boyd Chili Awards, April, 2006).  Matt Banner and Dave came also, so it was a really good time.  Massive crock pot of Chili, cornbread, cinnamon rolls, and sitting around in our living room talking about electrical engineering. In the words of Tim Troxler, “Boo-Yah.”
This was followed by the traditional Nazarene Nap, where we sleep until 10 minutes before Small Group starts.  The Dawsons could not make it again, and we are praying for them, as well as for all Seniors who are feeling the pressure of Senior Due Date.  It was us and Andy and Brad, and we made english muffin pizzas and watched the rest of the 1st season of the Office, which we started at the last Small Group meeting.
