Flickr, Kebabs, and DOR
Most people only need to make one trip to their local DMV or DOR or whereever they go in order to make adjustments to their drivers license. Although only one trip, it is still annoyingly long enough that as soon as this topic is raised, much murmuring ensues. In the last week, I have made THREE trips, and I still do not have it done. This same thing happened when we first moved out here as well, and this makes for a total of SIX times in twelve months I have had to go and get a number and stand in line. And when I stop boycotting the system, it will make seven.
Last night Julie and Crystal and I went to Beth and Steve’s, for what seems to be the first time since before Spring semester. They bought a house on a street with a cool name. Steve grilled up some “kebabs” (I always thought they were “kebobs” – maybe its a Nebraska thing??) that were really good, followed by a tour of the new place (appliances included as part of an “old lady special”) and trivial pursuit. The idea was that Steve is really good at it, and I am good at being subversive and consistently cause the correct answer to be rejected in favor of another, very much incorrect answer. This proved to not be the case last night, and we won. Sort of. Especially if you interpret “Denver Cowboys” to mean “Denver Broncos” (my bad Steve).
And, long overdue, I am going to try and switch to Flickr instead of the locally hosted Gallery software I have been using. I like Gallery, but I have been craving the “tags” feature, and it warrants abandoning Gallery until further notice. I also am planning to only upload a small selection of pics, instead of every single one I deem not completely worth deleting. More to follow as I integrate it into my site!
